FATVR Members Only General Discussion

May 2026 News Letter

I was just notified by one of our club members that they will be available at the Landowners Dinner to Notarize HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENTS for those who need it. I will make sure I will have forms on hand for members who need them. Member listed on this agreement must be present to sign in front of Notary.

Hello FATVR Members,

I feel the need to post this as I am getting overwhelmed with emails from the notification system as well as from members. This isn't a very fast process but I am working from sun up to sun down processing everyone's renewals. If you have sent in your renewal I will get to it. I have to verify every members profile and documents and this can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes per member depending on what I find while reviewing each membership information. All side photos of members machines expired along with memberships on May 11, 2026 so instead of asking for members to send the same photo, I am processing them for you because I can't just change the date of expire, a new item has to be loaded. I have sense made adjustments in the data base so your machine photos don't expire until 2030. If you as members get new machines please make sure that I get the photo and updated insurance & registration information.

Another thing I am coming across is there are many members who have not sent in the original copy of the HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT that went into effect in 2025. If I find that you haven't sent it in, you will be notified and sent the blank document or directed to the file on our website for download. I have also included the link here 2025 ATV OPERATOR'S DEFENSE, INDEMNITY & HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT. For those who are not in the know, this document must be signed by you the member in front of a Notary Public. We need this original on file here in the office per the club's attorney and insurance company. Any family member listed in your membership must have this on file or they can't ride with you on the Foothills ATV Riders Inc. trail system. If members of your family are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be present and sign along with the under age family member. I know many of you are thinking you already have this on file, but the old form is obsolete and there are hundred here in the office that we can't even read, which is unacceptable. All printed information must be legible or it will be rejected. Ok so enough of this.

There appears to be some confusion in regards to our new riding area on Lilly Pond Rd, recently named BEAVER POND CAMP, with our old location BEAVER DAM. It was decided (May 11,2026 Monthly Meeting) by the board of directors and members present that Foothills ATV Riders Inc will refer to this location as BEAVER CAMP.

Things you should know about this location. There are trails, but this area hasn't been maintained in many years and what is there need to cleared along with new trails made.(Bring your brush tools) The rule at this location per landowner is, first off, stay within the property boundaries, currently the property boundaries are not fenced or clearly marked but that is coming soon. So use a GPS program to locate them or be with someone that has one. If it looks like something that you want to ride, go for it keeping safety in mind. There will be an entrance gate installed very soon and as soon as you enter the property there is room for parking on the upper level. The ground is solid and there shouldn't be an issue. Currently while crossing what use to be the beaver dam, use caution until the final touches have been made. I am going to attempt this again, looking to put a work party together to get this area ready for the summer. If you have equipment that will help cut brush to make this process go along much better, it's welcomed, just let me know what you have so it can be organized.

NORTHERN TRAIL SYSTEM Currently there are members who are clearing trail that will give the trail system access to the Lookout (Pinnacle) in North Granville. This is another big project that is dealing with another Beaver Dam and estimates are that it will be mid summer before the trail is open for use. Accessing all north trails is still broken up and still being worked on. Parking is available at GROTTOLI'S MAPLE for those wishing to ride the northern trails up Quivey Hill Rd. More trails will be opening up in the very near future in this area. This brings me to the next topic.

Poultney Vermont has opened the town roads for atv use but they currently don't want any ATV's on the streets in the village. To learn more follow Poultney Dirt Devils. I encourage all members to get behind the Poultney Dirt Devils as this will greatly expand where we can all ride. It's not far from Quivey Hill Rd and hopefully we can connect. Membership to Dirt Devil's and VASA will be required. There is a meeting coming up, click here.

Safety: Let's not forget that it is mandatory that ALL MEMBERS, FAMILY MEMBERS & THEIR GUESTS must wear a helmet while riding Foothills ATV Riders Inc. trail system. This policy is in the By Laws and strictly enforced and disciplinary actions will be enforced. So everyone do your part and lets have a safe 2026-2027 riding season.
